Hook-and-loop patches (embroidered)
WITH YOUR OWN DESIGN
Delivery time: approx. 5–6 weeks
+ FREE delivery (within Germany) & VAT included
Custom embroidered hook-and-loop patches with the design of your choice from as few as 10 pcs. With a high-quality hook-and-loop backing for quickly attaching, removing and swapping your patches (the loop counterpart is included).
Ideal for paintball teams, for outdoor use, for showing team membership in sports teams, as role and function patches (for the police, enforcement services, fire brigade, security, the armed forces, …) or in marketing for promotions and at trade fairs. Hook-and-loop patches are of course also available in woven or printed version available.
Create / design your own hook-and-loop patches
Get the hook-and-loop patches you designed yourself, quite simply (from 10 pcs):
Design your artwork
Use graphics software, send us your logo or draw the artwork by hand. Please note our Tips & notes on designing patches.
Send in your artwork
Upload your artwork using the price calculator on this page or email it to us. Choose whether you want to order straight away or first make an enquiry (free of charge for you).
Artwork check & a quote if required
We now check your design to see whether it is suitable for producing patches. If we see any major problems, we will contact you again and let you know.

We send you an image of how your artwork will look as a finished patch. You then give the final approval.
Production
Your artwork now becomes an embroidery programme. A patch embroidery machine uses it to produce the hook-and-loop patches you designed.
Shipping
Once your hook-and-loop patches are made, they are sent straight to you (free of charge at aufnaeher.de, of course).
So creating hook-and-loop patches is easy for you: simply send in your artwork, approve the visual and the quote, and production starts for you.
The key advantage of patches with hook-and-loop is that they removable again and again are and can be swapped.
That is also why hook-and-loop is typically used on German armed forces patches. The reason: they regularly need to switch between the coloured version and the camouflage version of the patches on operations. And the loop part needed for attachment is usually already on the uniform.
In some sports clubs, this advantage of hook-and-loop attachment can be helpful too. For example, when teams are constantly being put together differently or an individual player's role in the team changes again. In cases like these, an interchangeable hook-and-loop patch is a good way to show a player's team membership or role.
What exactly is hook-and-loop?
Hook-and-loop consists of two parts: a fluffy loop part and its counterpart, the hook part (hook tape). On patches from Versandhaus Neumeyer-Abzeichen, these hooks cover the entire back of the patch, of course, to give the best possible hold.
When you press this hook tape onto the loop side, the tiny hooks inside interlock and the fastening holds. Thanks to the sheer number of tiny hooks, this is really quite strong.
But if you pull on it with some force (and at certain angles as you pull it off), the hooks and the loop give way and the hooks come free – the hook-and-loop part is off again. This can be repeated very many times.
By the way: the loop part is often called the “female” part and the hook part the “male” one ?
Attaching a patch with a hook-and-loop fastening for the first time
Patches with hook-and-loop are delivered in two parts: the patch itself with the hook tape on the back, and the loop part, which has exactly the same outline. You then attach this loop part wherever the patch is to be seen later – in most cases that means sewing the loop part onto the clothing.
Important: avoid attaching the hook part directly to fluffy fabric (without the loop part supplied). Attaching it directly like that may look easiest at first glance, but because the fabric is damaged every time the patch is pulled off, you would not enjoy it for long (the loop parts we supply, by contrast, are specially made to last).
Cleaning the hook-and-loop on patches
It is fairly rare for hook-and-loop to get dirty. Even so, hairs, lint and the like can get caught in it if you happen to put the patch down awkwardly. Cleaning it in a case like that is very easy, though.
Do an initial clean with a lint roller or parcel tape. Lay the hook-and-loop fastening flat and run the lint roller over it several times, or press the parcel tape on and pull it off again. That should remove the coarser, more superficial dirt from the patch's hook-and-loop.
Lint and hairs sitting deeper down can be loosened and removed by brushing the hook tape with a toothbrush. And particularly stubborn dirt can then be removed with a needle and tweezers.
Once the hook-and-loop fastening on your patch is clean again, its holding power increases noticeably. So clean the back of your hook-and-loop patches now and again.
Design your own hook-and-loop patches
Hook-and-loop badges can be designed entirely freely, like all patches. You can choose the design just as freely as the outline of the badge. This creates patches made exactly to your ideas (and we are happy to give you more design tips). You order a self-designed patch with hook-and-loop like any other patch – you simply tick “hook-and-loop” under “Fastening”.
Embroidered, woven or printed
Classic hook-and-loop patches used to be embroidered. For small text or fine detail, though, there are better alternatives. For example, text under 5 mm high can be shown far more clearly on woven badges than with embroidery. If a design contains a great many colours or colour gradients, printed patches are the first choice. Photos can even be reproduced this way.
If you are unsure what the best choice is for your design, simply send it to us as an enquiry, stating the size you want. We will be happy to assess it, make a recommendation and send you a suitable quote.
How do I place an order correctly?
1. Enter the desired patch size: The first step is to specify the size of your embroidered patch (width and height in cm). For round patches (e.g. with a diameter of 8 cm), enter 8 cm x 8 cm in the ‘Height x Width’ field. You can order patches directly here up to a size of 12.7 cm (diameter for round patches, width + height / 2 for all other shapes). Larger patches are also possible, but will be priced on a case-by-case basis. To receive a quote, please send us your logo, specifying the desired size and quantity. We will then send you our competitively priced quote.
2. Selection of possible extras (special requests) Here you can specify whether you would like the colours in gold, silver or bronze – for a small surcharge – as metallic threads. These give patches a particularly elegant finish. We can also produce your patch with a special fastening. You can choose between an iron-on backing or a Velcro fastening. If no specific fastening is specified or requested in your order, we will produce your patches for sewing on as standard. Furthermore, two different base fabrics are available for your embroidered patch. The standard option is twill fabric (a special cotton blend), which will be used for your patch unless you select the felt backing option.
3. Specifying the desired order quantity In the third step of the ordering process, you will need to specify the quantity you wish to order. Please note that the minimum order quantity for patches is 20.
4. Specifying optional requests Please specify the font, embroidery thread and background colours in the file you upload. Please enter the colour codes (RAL, HKS or Pantone colours) in the message field. If no details are provided, our staff will select a suitable font, embroidery thread and background colours for you.
Hook-and-loop patches FAQ
FAQ hook-and-loop patches
What do hook-and-loop patches cost?
The price of hook-and-loop patches with your own design depends on the size and, to a large extent, on the quantity you want. The higher the quantity, the (considerably) cheaper per piece; the larger the size, the more expensive. Printed hook-and-loop patches are also more expensive than woven or embroidered ones – we will advise you in detail. It is best to use the price calculator too.
Is the loop counterpart included with hook-and-loop patches?
Yes, of course. You get exactly the number of loop parts you need for your hook-and-loop patches, in exactly the right size and shape.
Are hook-and-loop patches available other than embroidered?
Yes. Woven or printed patches (and even rubber patches) can also be given a hook-and-loop backing, turning them into hook-and-loop patches.
Can hook-and-loop patches be made with your own artwork?
Yes, that is possible from around 20 pieces with the same design (the price per patch drops considerably at higher quantities). Here's how:
Get an initial price quote online.
Send in your artwork, stating the size and quantity.
You will receive an individual quote.
Order the quantity you want and we will deliver it to you.
Are hook-and-loop patches available other than embroidered?
Yes. Woven or printed patches (and even rubber patches) can also be given a hook-and-loop backing, turning them into hook-and-loop patches.
Please note that for small details or text, and for small badges up to 5 cm, the woven or printed version is very often the better choice for getting an attractive patch. If you are not sure, it makes sense to send us an enquiry first. We will then check your design and make a recommendation.
Hook-and-loop patches are the perfect solution when patches need to be flexible and reusable. Thanks to the practical hook-and-loop fastening, the patches can be attached, swapped or removed at any time – with no sewing or ironing at all. That makes them particularly popular with the police, fire service, military, security, outdoor equipment, airsoft and paintball, but also with clubs and companies that want to use changing logos or names.
Our hook-and-loop patches usually consist of two parts: the patch with the hook surface and the matching loop tape for sewing or sticking on. That gives you maximum flexibility and lets you swap your patches quickly as needed.
Whether embroidered, woven or made of PVC – we make custom hook-and-loop patches in the size, shape and colour you want. Combinations with special shapes, edge finishes or particular lettering are possible too. You decide whether your patch should be round, square or freely shaped – we reproduce your design faithfully and help you design your patch so it fits your project perfectly.
You can order hook-and-loop patches from us even in small quantities, but we are also the reliable manufacturer for large runs. Thanks to modern production and fast delivery times, you get high-quality patches with a hook-and-loop fastening in consistent quality.
If you would like to order custom hook-and-loop patches, you have come to the right place. We advise you personally and make sure your patches are made to be long-lasting, practical and a precise fit.
